Nature is restorative and our RVH Healing Garden provides a place of refuge and reflection for our patients, visitors and staff. The Healing Garden concept was created by Mary and Terry Egan so Mary could have a quiet place surrounded by nature that she rest as she underwent chemotherapy treatments. Terry gathered an amazing team of local musicians and volunteers and started the Healing Garden Committee. The RVH Healing Garden was created in 2009 and has seen some additions in the past 5 years. It is truly a place of beauty and allows everyone to step out of the hospital environment and enjoy the serenity of nature even if its just for a few minutes. Stroll through the gardens.
Miliken’s Garden Centre came forward in 2019 as an official Healing Garden floral sponsor and spends countless hours designing and planting our Healing garden flower beds and the results are OUTSTANDING. Special thanks to John, Lorraine and the team at Miliken’s for being such a special part of our RVH Team and thanks to our very own RVH Foundation team member Steve Lyons for maintaining the plants every year and giving them the nurturing care to keep them healthy. Steve is also our resident photographer and his photos of our gardens are incredible.
