What an Accomplishment!

100 Kilometres for 100 Years of Growth and Innovation at RVH

Seventy-four-year-old Pat McGregor set an ambitious goal this year: to raise $100,000 by walking and biking 100 kilometres in celebration of 100 Years of Growth and Innovation at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, marking a century since the original hospital building was destroyed by fire in January 1926.

Through wind, rain, and summer heat, Pat persevered, inspiring our entire community with her determination and commitment to complete her 100-kilometre journey.

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, family members, friends, supporters, and community residents gathered at RVH to cheer Pat on as she completed her final kilometres. After crossing this remarkable milestone, many joined her for a special “cool-down” walk, celebrating her achievement together.

Throughout her training, Pat approached local businesses and individuals seeking support for her fundraising initiative. Community members responded generously, helping her make a meaningful impact for local healthcare. The RVH Foundation also hosted a 50/50 draw in support of Pat’s project. Drawn on August 23, the lucky winner of $1,020 was Judy LeClair.

In addition, numerous local businesses contributed items for a beautiful gift basket that was raffled through donations. The lucky winner of the basket was Karen Warren of Calabogie.

While donations are still being accepted in support of Pat’s event, we are thrilled to announce that she has already raised an incredible $33,572 for the #EQUIPRVH Campaign, which provides essential medical equipment for the dedicated healthcare team at Renfrew Victoria Hospital.

Capital medical equipment is not funded by the government, making community support vital. The RVH Foundation is responsible for raising the funds needed to purchase this equipment, and during the 2026-2027 fiscal year, the Foundation has committed to funding $600,000 in new medical equipment. An itemized list of purchases will be prepared and presented following the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027.

“We could not do what we do without the support of our community and champions like Pat McGregor,” said RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough. “Pat is an inspiration to us all. Her dedication, determination, and commitment to supporting our hospital are truly second to none.”

Pat’s journey reminds us all of the extraordinary difference one person can make when they set their heart on helping others.

“The heart of a volunteer is not measured by its size, but by the depth of its commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.”

THANK YOU, PAT McGREGOR!
